Mr. Alexanderasked the Secretary for Mines whether, under the rationing scheme for coal which it is proposed to introduce in the event of war, consumers will be free to select the distributors from whom they will obtain supplies?
§ Mr. LloydYes, Sir. Consumers whose peace-time consumption does not exceed two tons per annum and who normally buy their coal in quantities not exceeding I cwt. at a time, will be free to obtain their supplies in the same way as at present. Other consumers will be required to obtain their coal from one distributor 2659W only, whom they will be free to choose, irrespective of whether they obtained supplies from him in peace-time or not.
