Robinsonasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that in Liverpool docks and warehouses there are stored abnormally heavy stocks of tinned salmon; if he has any information as to the purpose for which there is tills unusual accumulation of stocks of this commodity; the number of tins and the places of origin?
§ Mr. CrossImports of tinned salmon have been considerably larger in the first half of the present year than in the corresponding period of the last two years, owing, I understand, to a larger catch; but I am unable to state what quantity is at present in store in Liverpool. The hon. Member will find particulars of imports from the chief countries in the Monthly Trade Accounts.
