§ Sir A. Wilsonasked the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been drawn to the official evidence recently given to the Royal Commission on Workmen's Compensation, Clauses 628 to 635, as to the need for legislation on the lines recommended by the Clauson Committee, 1927, and the Cassel Committee where under the Board of Trade would be able to require the same returns from mutual associations as from insurance companies; and whether he will consider the possibility of introducing legislation to this end in anticipation of a more comprehensive Bill?
§ Mr. CrossI have seen the evidence to which my hon. Friend refers, but as at present advised my right hon. Friend sees no necessity to anticipate the proposed comprehensive Bill to amend the law relating to the carrying on of the business of insurance by introducing legislation limited to a particular aspect thereof.
