HC Deb 20 April 1939 vol 346 cc533-4W
Mr. Anstruther-Gray

asked the Secretary of State for War whether, in addition to canvas clothing, he will consider issuing to Reservists who rejoin the Colours for a period of training a suit of service dress which could be returned to store on the completion of their training?

Sir V. Warrender

Provision has been made for the full scale of clothing (including service dress) to be issued during training to those Reservists who are to attend manoeuvres, but, in cases where Reservists will be in barracks, the issue of service dress (in addition to two suits of canvas clothing) is not necessary and would be wasteful.
