asked the Secretary of State for Air whether instructions were given for designs to be made at Farnborough for an illuminated wind stocking for Croydon airport; and, if so, on what dates the instructions were given and the designs completed?

Instructions to the effect referred to were issued in January, 1927. There is no record now available of the date when the design was completed but the wind sleeve (which however was not adopted for use) was installed and tested at Croydon in February, 1928.
