Mr. Ridley

asked the Minister of Labour the number of insured men and women, respectively, between the ages of 55 and 65 at January, 1938, and the number unemployed between these ages?

Mr. E. Brown:

At 28th February, 1938, there were 240,099 insured men and 24,004 insured women, aged 55 and under 65, registered as unemployed at Employment Exchanges in Great Britain. Statistics showing the total number of insured men and women of these ages are not available.
