§ Mr. T. Smithasked the Secretary for Mines the approximate number of tons of coal consumed for domestic purposes 2262W for the year 1937 and the average price per ton of coal sold for domestic purposes?
§ Captain Crookshank:The consumption of coal for domestic purposes in private houses, public buildings and institutions, including coal for domestic industries and miners' coal, was estimated after the War at 40 million tons a year. I have no information enabling me to say to what extent this figure would now need variation, nor can I give the average price per ton of coal sold for domestic purposes.
