§ Mr. Sorensenasked the Prime Minister whether he will make a statement respecting the diplomatic conversations between the Japanese Foreign Minister and the British Ambassador; and whether he will state the main points to be raised in these conversations?
§ Mr. ButlerThe conversations are intended to cover all outstanding matters of importance such as were raised yesterday by my hon. Friends the Members for Preston (Mr. Moreing), Horncastle (Mr. Haslam) and Chertsey (Commander Marsden). In the opinion of His Majesty's Government, the Japanese Government can fairly be expected to give immediate satisfaction to the British and third party interests concerned on such questions.
