HC Deb 09 February 1938 vol 331 c1080W
Sir W. Brass

asked the Minister of Transport whether, in order to induce pedestrians to take more notice of traffic lights, he will consider experimenting with small red, amber and green pedestrian lights attached to the columns of the main traffic lights, these pedestrian lights working in conjunction with the main lights but in the opposite sense?

Mr. Burgin

I do not consider that additional signals of the type my hon. and gallant Friend suggests are necessary, and indeed they might be confusing.
