§ Mr. Benjamin Smithasked the Minister of Labour how many factories are tenanted on the Team Valley trading estate at Gateshead; and whether he will give the total number of employés in those factories, the number of men over 21 years of age, the number of women over 21 years of age, the number of youths under 21 years of age and the number of girls under 21 years of age?
§ Mr. E. BrownThe number of factories tenanted on the Team Valley trading estate at 30th November was 85 of which 79 were in production. In addition there were 25 factories erected or in course of construction for tenants. The number of persons employed in the factories was approximately 1,700.
The latest available details of persons employed, relating to the position at 30th September, 1938, were furnished in the reply to the hon. Member for Abertillery (Mr. Daggar) on 29th November, of which I am sending the hon. Member a copy.
