§ Mr. Priceasked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware that, at Blakeney, Forest of Dean, recently, a runaway lorry did damage to the house of Mrs. R. Bennett; that no compensation is payable to the injured party because liability to insure against damage to third-party property is not included in the Road Traffic Act, 1930; and whether, in view of this and similar cases, he is considering taking any steps to amend the Act in this sense?
§ Mr. BurginI was not aware of this accident. I do not think that there is any sufficient case for legislation to provide that insurance against damage to property by motor vehicles should be made compulsory.
