CourthopeApproximately 680 men have been employed by the Forestry Commissioners for varying periods on Special Areas afforestation schemes During the year to 30th September last 64 men have been employed in the county of Durham on Special Areas schemes, 23 of these for an average of 14 to 15 weeks at an average wage of £1 19S. per week, and 41 for an average of 10 weeks at a wage of £1 18s. per week.
