asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Education whether he can give a list of the number of grants which have been provided up to date under the Physical Training and Recreation Act?

Capital grants have so far been allocated in 42 cases, covering eight swimming baths, 19 clubs and community centres, three camps and camping sites, one youth hostel and II equipment and other projects, and a large number of further schemes are under consideration. In addition, a substantial sum has been placed at the disposal of the National Playing Fields Association for the expansion of playing field provision, and 36 playing field schemes have either been dealt with or are in course of examination.
