HC Deb 12 April 1938 vol 334 cc952-3W
Sir C. Rawson

asked the Secretary of State for War whether his attention has been called to the fact that a considerable number of applicants who wish to join an anti-aircraft unit have been re- fused by the 57th Field Brigade, Royal Artillery, at the Drill Hall, Church Street, Brighton, owing to the absence of any provision being made in Sussex for recruitment; and whether it is contemplated making any change in this direction?

Sir V. Warrender

There is at present no anti-aircraft unit in the neighbourhood into which such applicants can be enlisted. I would, however, point out that a very small number of vacancies exist in the 57th Field Brigade, and I hope that those whom my hon. and gallant Friend has in mind will not lose their chance of filling them before it is too late.
