HC Deb 25 November 1937 vol 329 cc1424-5W
Mr. W. Roberts

asked the Minister of Agriculture what will be the minimum price guaranteed for manufactured milk under the Government's proposed scheme?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

As indicated in my reply to the hon. Member on 8th November, the lowest figure to which the assisted price of milk for manufacture into butter and cheese can fall will depend upon a number of factors, some of which will, in turn, depend on the detailed arrangements for giving effect to the price insurance plan outlined in the White Paper last July, for example, as regards standard gallonages. These matters are being considered by the Government, and I hope shortly to be able to announce fuller details.
