HC Deb 24 November 1937 vol 329 c1232W
Captain Strickland

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will inform the House as to the progress made with regard to the building of a fly-over bridge in the city of Bristol for the relief of traffic congestion in that city?

Mr. Burgin

I assume my hon. and gallant Friend refers to the proposal to construct a fly-over bridge at the southern end of the new city centre. If so, I am unable to dissent from the opinion of the City Council that the relatively steep gradients and other difficulties involved make the suggestion impracticable.
