asked the Minister of Transport whether he will make a statement of the actual position to date of the five-year programme for highway construction and the progress made?

At 31st October, 1937, the highway authorities had submitted programmes of works on other than trunk roads estimated to cost £129,000,000, of which £80,000,000, involving Road Fund commitments of £47,000,000, had been approved.
