HC Deb 09 November 1937 vol 328 c1621W
Mr. Groves

asked the Home Secretary whether, in connection with his investigations for air raid precautions, he has considered the possibility of the use during an air raid of bombs timed for delayed action; and whether his advisers are taking precautionary measures accordingly?

Sir S. Hoare

Yes, Sir. Local authorities have been informed that the existence of unexploded bombs should be reported at once to the Police, who would take the necessary steps to guard against any immediate danger and to arrange for the handling of the bomb by the appropriate military authority.
