HC Deb 25 May 1937 vol 324 cc111-2W
Mr. Foot

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will give the names of the staff of the Scottish Economic Advisory Committee, stating in each case the duties performed and the salary received?

Mr. Elliot

I understand that the staff of the Economic Committee, which is a Committee of the Scottish Development Council, consists of a Secretary General, three administrative assistants, and six shorthand-typists, who are also engaged on general clerical duties. The annual expenditure on salaries is upwards of £3,000.

Mr. Foot

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will give particulars of the office accommodation at the disposal of the Scottish Economic Advisory Committee, setting out the number of rooms available for the use of the committee and its staff?

Mr. Elliot

I am informed that in the offices of the committee at 19, Blythswood Square, Glasgow, six rooms are available for the use of the committee and its staff.
