§ Sir A. Wilsonasked the Attorney-General whether, in view of the number of statutory definitions now scattered through the Statute Book, the Government will consider the early preparation and introduction of a new Interpretation Bill?
§ The Attorney-GeneralI will bear my bon. Friend's suggestion in mind, but I would point out to him that the great majority of statutory definitions are1276W intended to be used for the purpose of particular Acts and that very few are of general application. I doubt, therefore, whether a new Interpretation Act would be found of much value to hon. Members or the public at large, or indeed to anyone except officials of the Parliamentary Counsel Office.
