§ Sir W. Davisonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is aware that considerable dissatisfaction exists among the British lighthouse keepers employed in the Egyptian ports and lights service owing to the fact that the lighthouses nearer shore are now manned mainly, if not entirely, by Egyptians and the more distant lighthouses, where conditions are more difficult and the work more arduous, are manned partly by Egyptians and partly by British, and that the latter arrangement, particularly, proves unsatisfactory in practice; and will he make representations to the Egyptian Government regarding this matter?
