HC Deb 22 June 1937 vol 325 cc1039-40W
Mr. R. C. Morrison

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will give the latest available figures of the consumption of Basque iron ore in the United Kingdom?

Mr. Stanley

I am informed that imports of iron ore from Northern Spain amounted to 972,300 tons in 1935 and to 962,300 tons in 1936. I regret that more

the safe, which contained the Post Office stock, had been removed bodily. The accounts show a shortage of just over£1,100, of which about£500 represents postal orders and about£100 cash, the remainder being mostly stamps. Inquiries in the matter are being pursued by the Metropolitan Police.
