§ Major Milnerasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can give any information on the withdrawal of their resignation from the Kenya executive council of Lord Francis Scott and Captain Schwartze; whether the Governor made any concessions to them in order to secure their consent to be reappointed; and, if so, in what such concessions consisted?
Marquess of HartingtonThe two gentlemen in question have not withdrawn their resignations from the Executive Council of Kenya. They have been reappointed to the Council in the usual manner, and, so far as my right hon. Friend is aware, no conditions of any kind were attached to the re-appointment.
