HC Deb 23 July 1937 vol 326 c2580W
Sir A. Wilson

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer when the Royal Commission on Inventions held its last meeting; whether its final report has yet been submitted; and, if so, when it will be published?

Sir J. Simon

The last formal hearing before the Commission took place some three and a half years ago; there were, however, subsequent meetings of the Commission's Investigating Committee and it was not until a considerably later date that certain possible claims could be regarded as unlikely to fructify. I understand that the Commission's final report should be submitted before the House reassembles and early publication will follow.
