§ Lieut.-Colonel ColvilleThe value of goods imported into the United Kingdom during 1936 unconditionally exempt from duty under the Import Duties Act, 1932, and not chargeable with duty under any other enactment is approximately £295,000,000. This figure does not include gold and silver bullion and coin, which are not usually regarded as merchandise, nor goods which are liable to duty but admitted free under various statutory conditions.
