HC Deb 25 February 1937 vol 320 c2198W
Mr. Hall-Caine

asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to the appeal which is being made in this country by the International Brigade Dependants' Aid Committee for funds to support the dependants of the 800 men in the British section of this brigade; and whether he proposes to take any steps with regard to this matter in view of the undesirability of these British volunteers continuing to participate in the Spanish civil war in the light of Government policy with regard to non-invention?

Sir J. Simon

I am aware of the appeal referred to, but I have no power to prevent the collection of funds for the purpose in question.
