asked the Minister of Labour whether, taking the average number of unemployed on any recent given day, he can state the number of persons over 60 of either sex who were included in the total?

and will he give the figures for Glamorgan, Monmouth, and Carmarthen, separately?

The latest date for which an age-analysis of unemployed persons on the registers of Employment Exchanges is available is 2nd November, 1936. On that date out of a total of 1,263,937 men and 247,404 women aged 18 and over on the register, 119,581 men and 8,769 women were aged 60 or over.
