§ Sir J. Mellor
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what part of the sum of £243,450, lent or promised on loan by the Special Areas Reconstruction Association, Limited, has been or will be provided out of the subscribed capital of the company; and whether the present paid-up share capital, amounting to £145,000, is to be increased for this purpose by making calls on the 900,000 preference shares of £1 each, 1s. paid?
§ Lieut.-Colonel Colville
The whole of the authorised capital of £1,000,000 has been subscribed and will therefore be available to provide the loans already granted or which will be granted in the future. The uncalled capital will be called up as and when the business of the company makes it necessary.
