HC Deb 15 February 1937 vol 320 c852W
Mr. T. Morris

asked the Minister of Health how many cases have been brought to his notice where corporations have acquired property condemned for slum clearance, and have subsequently made money out of it by permitting its occupation at current rents?

Sir K. Wood

Two cases have recently been brought to my notice, in which this suggestion has been made. I feel sure that local authorities are alive to the undesirability of continuing slum property in occupation longer than is necessary, but if my hon. Friend has any particular case in mind I shall be happy to look into it if he will let me have particulars.
