HC Deb 12 February 1937 vol 320 cc727-8W
Mr. Price

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can make any statement on the reasons for the recent change in the status of His Majesty's representative in Liberia?

Viscount Cranborne

The appointment of a representative of His Majesty at Monrovia results from His Majesty's Government's decision to recognise the Liberian Government. Normal diplomatic relations were resumed on 16th December last, when His Majesty's Consul-General at Monrovia presented to the Liberian Secretary of State a letter accrediting him as His Majesty's Chargé d'Affaires.
