§ Sir P. SassoonAir-raid protection schemes are being prepared on the lines laid down by the Air-Raid Precautions Department. These include the provision of refuge accommodation and first-aid1616W posts, and the storage of a reserve of sandbags for additional protective work. Fire-fighting arrangements are being overhauled and strengthened and squads are being raised for rescue and clearance and decontamination work. The raising of first-aid parties is also under consideration.

§ Mr. Lloyd; The sandbags which have been ordered for local authorities for the purpose of air-raid precautions are being manufactured from yam spun and cloth woven in the United Kingdom. They are also being sewn in the United Kingdom.
