asked the Minister of Labour whether he can state the number of men and women in Glasgow unemployed on 1st April 1937; the numbers in each Parliamentary area; and similar numbers and totals for each year since 1st April, 1918?

Following is the statement. The latest figures relate to 15th March, 1937. The table below shows the numbers of unemployed men and women, aged 18 and over, registered at Employment Exchanges situated in the large burgh of Glasgow at a date in March of each year since 1923, the earliest year for which comparable figures are available. Corresponding information is not available in respect of Parliamentary Divisions.
