HC Deb 12 April 1937 vol 322 cc633-4W
Mr. Kelly

asked the Home Secretary what reports have been made as to the wearing of uniforms and their provocative display in parts of London; and what action was taken to deal with this danger to peace which such exhibitions gave?

Mr. Lloyd

On the passing of the Public Order Act, 1936, the Commissioner of Police drew the attention of those political organisations whose members were known to wear uniform to the provisions of Section 1 of the Act. The Commissioner of Police informs me that since the 1st January the wearing of the political uniforms previously in use has been discontinued.
