§ Mr. KIRBYasked the Minister of Health, whether he will use his influence to effect agreement between the health committee of Liverpool and the London Midland and Scottish Railway Company as to the methods whereby the company may be able to assist in the early abatement of the smoke nuisance in the central area of Liverpool?
§ Sir K. WOODI am informed that the Railway Company are obtaining a report on existing conditions as a preliminary step to considering what practicable measures can be taken in cooperation with the Town Council in the matter. I do not feel that anything would be gained by my intervention at the present stage. I am, however, keeping in touch with developments.
