asked the Minister of Transport, what was the average and peak density of traffic at Malton, on the York to Scarborough road, as ascertained by the last traffic census; and what was the average and peak density of traffic on the Great North Road, in the North Riding of Yorkshire, as ascertained by the last traffic census?

A traffic census was taken during the week ended 18th August, 1935, near Malton Bridge, when the daily average and peak density of traffic between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. were as follow:
