HC Deb 27 March 1936 vol 310 c1560W
Mr. COVE

asked the President of the Board of Education, how many schools have been provided with gymnasia since the issue of the Hadow Report?

Mr. STANLEY

I regret that I have no complete information on this subject. The Board have a note of 30 cases since 1929 of new public elementary schools where the plans as finally approved made provision for a separate gymnasium. In addition many school halls have been equipped for use as gymnasia.
