§ Sir P. SASSOONNo, Sir. Fish is not an item of the ration issued in kind, and it is left to the messes to decide whether they will buy it out of their cash allowance or not. Herrings are regularly quoted in the price lists of the Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes, and are no doubt purchased as often as desired by the airmen generally.
