§ Sir P. DAWSONasked the Minister of Pensions, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, why Tantalum lamps, which are not efficient and no longer in practical use to-day, are still employed to light the Strangers' Dining Room; and when he proposes to replace them by modern gas filament lamps?
Mr. HUDSONThere are no Tantalum lamps in use in the Palace of Westminster. The present vacuum lamps are being replaced by gas-filled lamps as they, wear out, and, in accordance with this programme, my Noble Friend had arranged that those in the Strangers' Dining Room should be replaced during the Recess.
