§ Mr. LLOYDI can assure the hon. Member that the police are taking energetic measures to enforce the speed limit at all times, but with their limited resources they naturally concentrate their attention on those periods when excessive speed is likely to be most1216W dangerous. My right hon. Friend is satisfied that the police are fully aware of their duty to check dangerous driving, whether or not it occurs on roads subject to a speed limit, and he does not consider that any further instructions to them are necessary in this matter.
