§ Mr. DAYasked the President of the Board of Education whether his attention has been drawn to the increasing use of the cinema as a method of education which is in practice in many schools abroad; and will he consider the appointment of a departmental committee for the purpose of examining and introducing this system of education in the United Kingdom?
Mr. STANLEYI am aware that the cinema is extensively used for educational purposes in certain foreign countries. The use of the cinema in schools is increasing in this' country and developments are being carefully watched both by the board's officers and by local education authorities. T do not think, however, that any useful purpose would be served by the appointment of a committee such as the hon. Member suggests.
