§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAThe figures show that the percentage increase in the period in the number of pedestrians killed is just over 4 per cent.; the increase in the number of pedal cyclists killed is nearly 50 per cent.; and in the number of persons in or on vehicles other than pedal cycles approximately 2 per cent.
The numbers of pedestrians, of persons in or on vehicles (including motor cycles) and of pedal cyclists who died as a result of road accidents in Great Britain in each of the years 1932, 1933 and 1934 were as follow:
