COLLINSThe latest published report of the accountant of the Department (that is, for the year 1933–34), shows that the annual charge for the administrative expenditure of the 35 education authorities was £379,236, or 3.2 per cent. of the total annual expenditure of £11,931,785. The percentage has been practically the same in each year since 1928. For particular authorities the percentage ranges from 1.9 to 5.7 per cent. during the last seven years.
