HC Deb 25 July 1935 vol 304 cc2022-3W
Mr. T. MORRIS

asked the Minister of Transport what mileage of restricted roads in Wales has been de-restricted as a result of complaints from that area?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

The lengths of road which are under consideration for de-restriction are frequently specified only by reference to their termini, and particulars of the exact mileages are not given. The Flintshire County Council are about to make an Order de-restricting 27 lengths of road, and the Colwyn Bay Town Council, two lengths. The watch committee of Cardiff have recommended the city council to de-restrict 16 lengths. I have suggested to the Caernarvonshire County Council that six lengths should be de-restricted, to Denbighshire County Council eight, and to Swansea Town Council eight, but I have not yet received definite replies. A number of other proposals are under examination.
