HC Deb 15 July 1935 vol 304 cc760-2W
Sir J. WARLAW-MILNE

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has yet considered the positions arising from the unauthorised reprinting of British books in China; and whether he has made any further representations to the Chinese Government on the subject of the improvement of copyright law in China?

Sir S. HOARE

In response to recent representations made by His Majesty's Ambassador at Peking, the latter was informed that the Chinese Government are not at present prepared to amend the Chinese Copyright Law so as to enable China to accede to the International Copyright Convention.
