§ Mr. WESTWOODasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what action, if any, he is taking to have a technical survey of Scotland's water resources and supplies undertaken and an inquiry into the question of water supplies, with the object of securing a more economical and more effective use of these resources, as recommended by the Committee on Scottish Health Services in their interim report of 28th March, 1934?
§ Sir G. COLLINSThe whole question of water supplies in Scotland is being actively considered by the Department of Health for Scotland with a view to ensuring that adequate provision is made to meet the growing demand for water for domestic purposes. In particular, consideration is being given to the need for increased co-operation between local authorities in the utilisation of the sources of supply to the best advantage.
