HC Deb 15 April 1935 vol 300 cc1608-9W
Mr. MORGAN JONES

asked the Minister of Labour what was the amount of additional contribution received in the years 1931–32, 1932–33, 1933–34, and 1934–35, respectively, as a result of the imposition of an extra weekly contribution upon insured workers in 1931?

Mr. STANLEY

It is estimated that the increase in contribution income received by the Unemployment Fund from the increased rates paid by employed persons since 5th October, 1931, has amounted, approximately, to the following sums:

Period 5th October, 1931 to 31st March, 1932 2,800,000
Year ended 31st March, 1933 5,900,000
Year ended 31st March, 1934 6,100,000
Year ended 31st March, 1935 6,425,000
