Mr. HOLDSWORTH

asked the President of the Board of Trade the figures from 1919 to 1933, inclusive, of the yearly world production of sugar, specifying the amounts of cane sugar and beet sugar, respectively, the world consumption, and the world price of sugar on comparable dates in each year?

The following table gives particulars of the world production of beet and cane sugar in each of the years ended August, 1920 to 1933, as reported in the International Year Book of Agricultural Statistics. Comparable figures of the consumption of sugar cannot be given. No quotation giving the world price of sugar is available.
