HC Deb 21 December 1934 vol 296 c1533W
Lieut.-Colonel TODD

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies, when the proposed constitution for Palestine will be laid before the House?

Any change in the constitution of Palestine would be effected by means of an Order-in-Council amending the Palestine Order-in-Council of 1922, which was issued under the provisions of the Foreign Jurisdiction Act of 1890. Section 11 provides that every Order-in-Council made in pursuance of the Act shall be laid before both Houses of Parliament after it is made. But I should certainly give the House full information as to any proposed change before any Order was made.
