Dr. BoysonEligible rent for housing benefit purposes includes charges for any services for which the claimant has no option but to pay, and which the local authority considers are reasonably necessary for the proper enjoyment of the dwelling. A few charges are however specifically excluded from eligible rent. They are those for cleaning of windows, except windows of communal areas, sports facilities and laundering.
