Mr. Hunterasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether a national syllabus for instructing volunteers accepted by county councils to serve in civil defence in accordance with the provisions of the Civil Defence (General Local Authority Functions) Regulations 1983 is in preparation.
§ Mr. HurdA working party of officials and local authority representatives is considering the standardisation of training of civil defence volunteers, including the feasibility of a standard national syllabus of training.
